Sonic Arrives on Hulu and Amazon Prime
Our favorite blue hedgehog has made his way to our living rooms and available to watch on Hulu and Amazon. Sonic the Hedgehog tells the story of the world’s speediest hedgehog as he embraces his new home on Earth. Sonic and his new best friend Tom team up to defend the planet from the evil genius Dr. Robotnik and his plans for world domination.
If you missed the opportunity to see Sonic in theaters last year or simply excited for another run through, this weekend might be the perfect time to get the family together. Up until this point, you could only catch Sonic the Hedgehog at home via physical or digital copy.
Coincidence or not, Paramount Pictures also announced this month Sonic would be getting a sequel titled: Sonic the Hedgehog 2. Given the design of the title annoucement, it is expected Sonic’s good buddy Tails will play a major role in the upcoming film.
Sonic the Hedgehog 2 is expected to release next year, spring 2022. That is assuming there won’t be any delays like we experienced with the first movie when Paramount released the trailer and immediately faced major backlash due to its humanoid version of Sonic. Without a doubt, this movie would have flopped if Paramount ignored the fan outrage and didn’t take the time to redesign him from scratch. Sonic was a big part of my childhood, so the attention to details are much appreciated and look forward to what more is to come from the live action saga.
